Student & Family Responsibilities
Students: Please arrive on time, prepared with your instrument, music, and assignment book. Be respectful and kind, and practice regularly to make steady progress. Ask questions whenever you need help understanding an assignment.
Parents: Please let the teacher know if your child is sick or if anything at home or school may affect their lesson or learning. This helps us better support your child.
Music & Materials
Each student is responsible for purchasing the required music and materials for lessons. Materials will be assigned by the teacher and the student will be expected to have the materials no later than two weeks after the materials have been assigned. Advanced notice will be provided whenever possible.
Tuition & Schedule
Lessons follow the NSMS Academic Calendar and are billed monthly based on the scheduled number of lessons.
Tuition is automatically charged on the 1st of each month via Stripe.
A $10 late fee applies after the 3rd. Tuition is non-refundable and reserves your weekly lesson time, regardless of attendance. School closures and holidays will be communicated in advance and do not qualify for make-up credits. We accept payments through Stripe only.
Enrollment & Date
To discontinue enrollment, written notice must be received by email on or before the 15th of the month preceding the next billing cycle.
Cancelation Policy
Student cancellations: An asynchronous lesson will be provided. Students may submit a practice recording or prepared piece for teacher feedback.
Teacher cancellations: Lessons will be rescheduled within 30 days.
Missed lessons: Tuition is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted for missed lessons.
Planned absences: Please notify us in advance.
Fall enrollment: Summer enrollment is required to reserve a fall lesson spot.
Virtual Lessons
In the event of mild teacher or student illness, severe weather, lessons may be conducted virtually at the regularly scheduled time. When a virtual lesson is provided, an in-person make-up will not be available. If a student chooses not to attend the virtual lesson, that lesson and the associated tuition will be forfeited.

Thanksgiving Break: November 25–30, 2026
Winter Break: December 23, 2026 – January 1, 2027
Please mark your calendars. These breaks are built into the studio calendar, and no make-up lessons will be scheduled for these closures. If you would like to schedule a lesson during the break, please speak directly with your teacher.
Photo & Video Release
From time to time, we use photos and short video clips of students around the school, on the school website, or in social media posts. These are intended to encourage other students and support other teachers. Students are only identified by their first names. If you prefer that your or your child’s image not be used in this way, please let us know in writing.
